eBooks, info products and software have been being offering with resell rights since before I started my internet marketing journey some 6 years ago. This is just to say that the concept of a resellers license isn’t exactly a new concept. That being said, are products with resell rights still important for today’s internet marketers, and if so - why?

Some self-proclaimed internet marketing guru’s disclaim any benefit of resell rights products and private label rights (PLR) products stating, basically, that it’s a lazy business plan. Not only do I disagree with that stand, many of today’s top internet marketers utilize resell rights products as part of their own personal marketing plans.

Using products with resell rights may, indeed, be a lazy way of marketing, but it sure is effective. Of course, you don’t have to setup a dedicated website and sell these products as a stand-alone offering to derive benefit from them, there are a number of ways that you can use these “free to re-sell” products to expand your internet business & put more cash in your pocket at the end of the day.

Before we get into the “why”, we’ll discuss the “how” of using resell rights to expand your internet business.

Obviously, resell rights products can be setup on a dedicated website and sold as a stand-alone offering; either selling the product itself or also offering resell rights as well, provided the product comes with a Master Resell Rights license. Generally, this can be a difficult approach, especially in terms of ranking highly (naturally) in search engines for the product as if it came with master resell rights, you can rest assured that there are many others who have the same idea that you have. Personally, when I use this method I like to use PPC (pay per click) advertising because not only can I get instant traffic to the reseller website, I can easily track the keywords that lead to conversions & thus increase my chances of a positive ROI (return on investment).

In addition to this, if I find that the product has a long-term potential of being profitable I will work on optimizing that website to rank highly in search engines using the keywords that convert into sales as the starting point of my optimization efforts.

Bundling Resell Rights Products

Depending on the license passed when you purchase a product with resellers rights, you may be able to bundle them together, thus increasing the perceived value of what you are offering. Whether this “bundling” is due to offering the licensed product as a free bonus, or you simply have a website offering several different resale rights products in one package, bundling is certainly a viable option when you’re looking to use resell rights as part as your internet marketing business plan.

Before you bundle, however, you should always check the resellers license as sometimes certain products are not allowed to be offered in this capacity.

Using resell rights products as an incentive

One great thing about using resell rights products, one which true internet marketing guru’s use all the time, is to use them as an incentive to signup for an email list. If the terms of the product’s license allows it, this is one sure-fire way to increase your marketing email list, and it honestly takes almost no effort, either, to use resale rights products in this capacity.
